Malnourishment

This child is 3 yrs 10 mths old, and she weights 7.5 kgs. More than 50% of all child mortality is directly related to malnourishment. This little girl belongs to the Rivera family, they live in the slums of Metro Manila. |

This is Marjon Waminal. He died of Kwashior Kor malnourishment early this year. When we found him he had just had his first birthday. He is now buried in an unmarked paupers tomb in the North Cemetary, Metro Manila.

We found him in our slum, we prayed, we fed him, put him in hospital and he improved. But then he died. we collected his body from the morgue, did the funeral, nothing nice about it. Children should not have to die for a few $ worth of food per day.

This is R.J. He is so close to death. His body is listless, he weighs nearly nothing...he is dying right there in that picture. But God had some of His “hands and feet” nearby, and we saved him.

This is a new and improved R.J having a snooze 3 mths later.
