Student Sponsorship |
We now sponsor 220 students in both Elementary and High School. The local Y.W.A.M Base sponsors 50 students, the Barossa Valley, Matt' from melbourne, David Kenny and a number of others sponsor numerous children, Which means that we can send the poorest of the poor to school and give them an education that they would otherwise of missed out on. Most families earn less than $100 dollars per month.
Salvation combined with education is a great way of breaking the poverty cycle and truly giving these children a future and a hope.
We have also added a number of children ourselves, we sponsor 75 children in total. Most of those are elementary students, but we also have 12 in high school.
$75 per year gives a child two new uniforms, a bag, a pair of shoes and all the necessary stationary, books pens that they will need for the year. There is also enough finance to pay for special projects or school excursions that are part of the child’s course requirements. Depending upon the child specific family situation we might also give transport money to and from school.
You could sponsor a child if God so directed you. We have no administration costs and no salaries to pay, so every single cent goes to the child you are sponsoring. We would send you a child’s photo (later on you might be able to select a student from this site, but we are not set up for that at the moment) and give you some family background concerning your child.
It’s a great feeling to walk around Baseco and see the kids with the bags and the new shoes that you gave either going to, or coming home from school.
As I said we are not set up for all the photos yet, but here’s a couple

We all went to the markets for shoes and a few extra uniforms,
our leaders made sure we got all the right stuff... |

This is Jonathon and Twinkle Ortega, with or without a uniform Jonathon is a “show off”, but he’s cute. He was coming home from school and he proudly had two fish, who knows where he got them from. We sponsor both of these children.
