Team Guidelines

First time teams will need some form of reference or referral from their pastor.

Team size at the moment would be best limited to a maximum of 6 persons or less. There are exceptions to this rule depending upon what the team wants to come and do.

We do not recommend that people who suffer with any respiratory sickness come in these teams. Manila is incredibly polluted and there is no aircon’ to retreat into once you are in Baseco. A decent hospital is about an hour away. You might say I should have more faith than this, but this is just our policy. If someone with a respiratory condition really wants to come, then that decision will be decided by their local pastor and they will come at their own risk. They must also come prepared with whatever medicines that they might need.

You must inform us of any and all sickness' the team might have. For warned is for armed.

Accommodation can easily be provided courtesy of the local YWAM base at a cost of approx’ $10 U.S per night per head. This includes transport to and from the airport, as well as daily transport to and from the mission field. If the team is at the base for meals, this will also cover all meals. But often you will not be there for meals, YWAM will adjust the bill accordingly.

We also recommend that each person contribute $10 per day so that we can cover food, drink costs and additional transport as we move around. A team leader is responsible for this finance. This just makes it easier for one person to pay, instead of everyone having to carry money around.

This $10 is also to cover Christine and my expenses if we travel with you or if we are eating out with you. You must understand that we will need to do things that we do not normally do because your team is here. But the $10 per day will more than cover all expenses.

You can stay in the Philippines for 21 days without a visa, an off peak ticket will cost you about $1200 Aust’, inclusive of taxes.

We could organize certain events or activities (small crusades, children's programs, basic evangelism, teaching in bible studies etc), depending upon the make up of the team. Or you could just come and get involved in peoples daily lives. This is not always so exciting. Often just hot, sweaty, dirty work, but this is definitely my preference for you, as missions is all about people and many people will never attend the events, so we must go to them, amen.
